Weather forecast predicts rainy March
The driest winter in almost 80 years is followed by rain and debris in March. Both European and American long-term forecasts predict larger amounts of precipitation from next week.
It is dry and the water reservoirs are at record low levels. But now there is hope that the situation will be alleviated somewhat.
Both European and American forecasts for March show rain from next week. The Spanish weather service Aemet (Agencia Estatal de Meteorología), on the other hand, adds that there is some uncertainty about the path of rainy weather.
It could be like 2018 when the province of Málaga first experienced a dry winter followed by a wet march with rain for 19 days in a row. A total of 200 mm of rain fell during the period that alleviated the drought at that time.
Already on Monday, there may be occasional showers on the Costa del Sol. During the week, partly clear weather awaits until the weekend when the cloudiness increases. Next week is expected to get wet.
Last week, Alicante on the Costa Blanca received large amounts of precipitation when it fell 140 mm in just an hour. Places like Torrellano, El Altet and Elche were hit by hailstorms.
